In the case that graphical userinterfaces (GUI) need to be created that run unchanged on the most important modern operating systems, one can exploit Java's GUI classes with [oo]Rexx. This presentation introduces the basic concepts of GUI programming and demonstrates how to use these concepts to create cross-platform GUIs.
