Beschreibung
This paper is part of a more comprehensive research project aiming at a deeper understanding of key stakeholder's perceptions of Austrian Federal Museums by (re-) constructing their conceptions of public value as mediated by national print media. We argue that institutional logics and particularly the idea of institutional complexity provide a sound conceptual basis for a better understanding of public value(s) as social constructions guided by divergent systems of reference. In this paper we present exploratory findings by applying content-analytical as well as network-analytical tools to assess the media discourse about two selected Austrian Federal Museums during the years 2008-2010. We identify the relevant actors, discuss their different approaches and relationships towards the focal museums, and close with a brief evaluation of these results and some suggestions of how to strengthen the analysis in further analytical steps.Zeitraum | 27 März 2012 → 30 März 2012 |
