On 11 January 2024, in Cape Town, scholars gathered after the Africa Academy of Management (AFAM) 2024 conference to explore “North-South Dialogue on Practice-Based Approaches to Management Studies in Africa.” Co-hosted by Warwick
Business School and Stellenbosch Business School, this meeting engaged over 40 scholars and established a vibrant community dedicated to practice-based research on African management topics.Formally launched on 13 November 2024, NetprosAfrica continues to build momentum through regular webinars and
global scholarly engagement, with a focus on:
Developing African research capacity in qualitative and practice-based methods
Fostering theoretical novelty rooted in African empirical settings
Reviewing and reframing knowledge through a practice-based lens
Enhancing knowledge sharing and collaboration among scholars worldwide
Bridging research and practice for real-world impact in Africa
