Beschreibung

Beside various generic process and project management approaches a need for sectoral process and project management approaches exists. Sectoral solutions are found in economics as well as in business administration (e.g. marketing, controlling) and therefore it can be assumed, that sectoral standards in process and project management will gain importance.

Corresponding to the development the PROJEKTMANAGEMENT GROUP of the WU Wien has initiated the research project Pilot: Sectoral Process & Project Management in September 2007. The objective of the research program is to define relevant sectors and within these sectors identify specific process and project types. Furthermore, explicit requirements of different sectors for process and project management have to be identified in co-operation with partners from corresponding industries. Finally, sectoral standards are developed for process and project management. The research project lasts till June 2009 and is part of the research program Sectoral Process & Project Management. Aim of the paper is to provide a detailed description of the research project and present first results of the project.
