Beschreibung
The aim of this contribution is to outline risk response measures of avoidance, reduction, transfer, sharing or acceptance of risks associated with goods flows. Based on desk research and review of actual business practice, it is shown which risk response measures are employed in practice on different levels from transportation to supply chain management. The main findings are as follows: Aside from purely operative oriented strategies of riskreduction, transferring risks to others by different forms of contracts are prevalent in
transportation. In logistics and supply chain management, however, strategic oriented risk response measures of avoiding, sharing or accepting risks are more likely to occur.
Therefore, useful risk response strategies for goods flows should vary depending on the level of analysis and companies have to take this into account in their risk management processes.
