Liberalization resulted in an overall increasing market concentration with global freight forwarding companies dominating the market. But there is a growing second segment of highly specialized small to tiny air cargo agents. Hence, today we have two main market segments: (a) Top League: Global freight forwarders with highly standardized product offerings through their branch network an (b) Bottom of Market: Specialists where value added logistics matter, not solemly air cargo transport.
