Beschreibung
The choice of location is crucial for Civil Society Organizations, especially because many of them serve geographically small markets and depend on resources from their local communities. Thus, the presence of other organizations in their immediate surrounding can be an important location factor for CSOs, as spatial proximity facilitates cross-sector collaboration and promotes economies of agglomeration. However, studies on the relevance of organizational neighbors as a location factor for CSOs are scarce. This paper aims at addressing this research gap by analyzing the effects of the density of business and public organizations on the density of four different types of CSOs at the neighborhood level in Vienna, Austria. Findings suggest that agglomeration is an important location factor for CSOs, and that the four types of CSOs follow specific patterns of co-location with businesses and public sector organizations.Zeitraum | 11 Nov. 2020 → 13 Nov. 2020 |
