Beschreibung

Firms face difficulties in their international market diversification efforts, as they are limited in deploying their dynamic capabilities in and lack specific information about new markets. In response to these difficulties, firms may engage consultants from the new host market for assistance. Drawing on the dynamic capabilities and information cost views, this study shows when and how consultants complement or substitute other information sources in market diversification efforts subject to the firm’s dynamic capabilities. Moderator-mediator analyses support hypotheses on a sample of 1,476 international market entries.
