Beschreibung
The EU has initiated a range of initiatives to transform Europe into a circular low carbon economy and make our society’s resource consumption more sustainable. However, little is known about (1) the transition’s effects on the EU’s raw material demand and its regional and global supply structures and (2) the trade-offs and opportunities for resource-exporting countries (REC), both from a material and a climate perspective. CIRCEUS bridges this gap by linking debates about circular low carbon economy in the EU with debates about climate mitigation/adaptation and export dependency in the REC, to explore option spaces for action, guided by stakeholder perspectives from the EU and the Global South.
