    The 9th ENTER Conference followed a tradition of sharing knowledge among researchers in the fields of tourism and information and communication technologies. The key objectives of this conference are to disseminate findings, to learn more about each other and to exchange experiences on the development of new research theories and methodologies. For almost ten years, the ENTER Conference has centralized new information and conveyed the latest thinking in this interdisciplinary field. Content of the articles excepted for the Conference focused on the intelligence of travel advisory systems, on ontologies to facilitate the knowledge sharing and re-use of tourism information, advanced applications for mo-bile devices, the investigation of success factors for tourism web sites, and so forth. The 9th ENTER Research Conference brought together 111 researchers from 21 countries, who presented 52 papers at the Conference which took place in Innsbruck. The scientific track of the ENTER 2002 Conference was chaired by Karl Wöber, IfTL.
