Abstract
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities seem to be a must have for retailers nowadays. They
get involved in social projects and communicate their CSR activities to key stakeholders. Due to the
rapid rise of publications in this research field it is hard to keep abreast with the developments in the
field. Therefore, a systematic literature review of publications in the context of CSR and retailing within
the last 30 years has been conducted. Results show that there is a rapid rise of publications within the
last ten years. Twelve journals, that cover 63 percent of all publications, are identified.
