Abstract
This article validates the bureaucratic reputation scale developed by Lee and Van Ryzin (2019) across diverse countries and languages. Surveys were conducted in New Zealand, Austria, Denmark, and the Netherlands, with respondents evaluating the reputations of their national banks. Results indicate configural, metric, and scalar equivalence across the four countries, affirming the scale’s effectiveness. This study contributes to cross-cultural assessment tools for bureaucratic reputation, offering insights into potential refinements and broadening the understanding of administrative perceptions across various international contexts. We conclude that the bureaucratic reputation scale is a powerful and valuable tool for comparative analyses.
