Driving IT Design with Sustainability

Description

IT innovations are primarily focused on fast development. Although IT can help to better understand and combat the climate change, neglecting social and environmental sustainability during the IT design phase can lead to serious long-term harms to our society and environment. Embracing sustainability throughout the full IT design lifecycle is required to leverage the social and environmental value of IT solutions. Design-thinking needs to make sustainability a key priority for IT design and apply novel methods such as multi-lifespan design to enable the creation of sustainable IT solutions in the long-term.
