Description

In the context of curriculum design and semester planning, Higher or Secondary Education Organisations (HES) have been relying on reporting tools such as Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) and Data Mining. With the advent of Machine Learning (ML) and advanced Simulation techniques such as Agent-Based Simulation (ABS), it has also become possible to conduct predictive analytics in the same context. To this end, we are currently implementing a project called “"Predictive Analytics Services for Student Success Management” (PASSt), under the call "Digital and social transformation in higher education" by the Federal Ministry for Education, Science and Research. This paper reports on lessons learned from that project.
