  • Claudio Di Ciccio (Speaker)

Activity: Talk or presentationScience to professionals/public

Description

A business process is the collection of activities, resources, decisions, and strategies aiming at the achievement of an outcome that is of value to the business goal. Process mining is the set of techniques that permit to automatically discover, analyse, and improve business process models on the basis of recorded data, stored in the form of event logs. Event logs contain textual representations of temporarily ordered events that report on the execution of the process. In this talk, the basic concepts of process mining will be exposed, along with the fundamental algorithms used. In the light of those notions, the recent advancements in the process mining research areas and the open challenges in the field will be discussed.
