What do Apple's iPhones, Tesla's cars and Biontech's RNA-based COVID-19 vaccine have in common? These innovations were driven by immigrant founders - people who had crossed physical borders before pushing the boundaries of what is possible for all of us. Thus, immigrants exercise an important share of entrepreneurial activities and are significant in a popular economic process that needs to be thought of much more in terms of intercultural openness, away from deficits. A change of perspective is needed in order to use these partially unrecognized potentials as powerful mediators of capital and knowledge.
