Development and Distribution of Consumption in Austria

Private domestic consumption is the most important component of aggregate demand in many economies. Looking at the development of consumption over time, it is striking that even more than 10 years after the financial and economic crisis of 2008, consumption has not yet been able to follow the trend of the pre-crisis years. This project investigates whether this can be attributed to specific consumption categories and whether there are connections with the development of income distribution.
