Description
In this research program, we define the concepts of borders and cross-borders activities in multi-dimensional terms, including not only national and cultural borders but also those found in systems of organizations, meaning and communication.
Our program is divided into three main areas. The first is concerned with individuals behavior in multicultural situations, that is, with the interactions among people of various (national) origins in different contexts.
The second area concentrates on the problem facin multinational enterprises in Europe, and more particularly in East Europe.
Our third main area involves a comparative approach to selected business activities and environments in various countries, using problems and empirically derived solutions in order to draw conclusions about the countries themselves as well as each specific research topic.
The primary objective of our research is to describe and explain the processes of diffusion through the business administration community of certain ideas regarded as globally valid, in contrast to practices whose validity is limited to the European context.
