Information Integration for Enterprises in Global Projects

The purpose of this research project is to investigate how and if information integration strategies are assimilated and exploited by organisations in global projects involving the EU and China. Integration strategies relate to traditional and contemporary integration platforms, such as Corporate Social Networks or Cloud Computing, to exchange information between partners and across project functions. The assimilation process should create valuable, heterogeneous, operational and management capabilities, which, however, may be immobile according to the resource based view. These capabilities are embedded in the project processes and should lead integrated projects to superior performance by creating differential business value when compared to their non-integrated counterparts in their industry.
