Description
IPMA - The International Project Management Association set a research initiative on PM-competences of the Project-oriented Society (POS). The main objectives of the POS Conception Project were the construction of the model of the POS, the definition of possible boundaries for societies and the development of a metrics to describe and to measure the PM-competences of a society. Furthermore the project was aimed at defining restrictions and potentials for co-operations between societies with different PM-competences. Further objectives were to evaluate ongoing PM-knowledge transfers between societies and to develop startegies and instruments for the PM-knowledge transfer.
The project was finished as planned. The model of the POS was completed, a metrics for the measurement of the PM-competences of the POS was defined and two questionnaires for the self-assessment of societies were developed but require optimisation. National PM-initiatives were identified and structures for the consecutive "POS Benchmarking project" were defined. Besides, contacts with first POS Benchmarking partners were established.
