WU Vienna can build on a very high degree of internationalization, which is seen as one of WU’s core competencies and competitive advantages, and thus an important part of its further strategic orientation. Besides international accreditations and the membership in international networks, WU has cooperation agreements with around 240 partners worldwide. In Europe, WU cooperates within the framework of Erasmus+ KA103 with over 100 partner universities.

The completed project was intended to strengthen the exchange opportunities for members of WU Vienna and its research partners in Central Asia: administrative staff and faculty members were exchanged within this project. These opportunities were meant to help not only the participants’ personal advancement, but also strengthen WU’s overall internationalization efforts by
- including incoming mobile participants as a means to strengthen the effort to internationalize the home curriculum
- taking advantage of the outgoing mobile participants’ networks to strengthen the ties between the partner institutions.

Number and type/profile of participants:
Nine staff members (STA+STT) took use of the Erasmus+ KA107 program (Call 2) in both directions (incoming and outgoing) in the 2017/18 academic year. WU exchanged staff with 3 different Erasmus+ partner countries.

Description of undertaken activities:
The project itself was twofold:
1) One part of this mobility program was implemented in conjunction with the ERASMUS+ capacity building program “Project „Central Asian Centre for Teaching, Learning and Entrepreneurship” – CACTLE, 561495-EPP-1-2015-1-AT-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP. The aim of the project was to give involved universities the chance to mutually exchange and to broaden their experiences and competencies.
2) Another part of this mobility project was the cooperation between WU’s Institute of Slavic Languages and the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. The 2018 project on Teaching
