Jointly with the department of business statistics, University of Jena (Prof. Kischka), a reference model for the customer oriented improvement of the business processes of small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) is developed. The model is implemented and tested with the SMEs involved in the project. Several tools for the generation of customer requirements and customer satisfaction are presented and alternative methods are discussed. The main emphasis is the integrated application of methods and tools in the reference model
