Transformative Realism for effective climate action

Project Details

TRANSREAL aims to explore the potential of “transformative realism”, the need for radical, long term climate action taking into account the pragmatic, short-term needs of citizens by linking environmental and existential needs. Case study research based on co-production of knowledge in two rural Austrian case study regions will co-create visions, pathways, practices and policiesfor transformative climate action. Lessons learnt will be used for multilevel policy making, for knowledge transfer to other rural areas, and for fostering citizen engagement.
