The aim is the development of a web-based database from which one can learn
which research topics are relevant for the tourism industry
which of these topics already were examined
which experts / institutions deal with these topics.
The tourism knowledge base will help (operation starting from 2006)
to carry on strategic tourism research planning
to check quickly what was examined in which area by whom
to identify proficient potential contractors for projects which will be put out to tender in the near future
and therefore encourage the knowledge base for the Austrian tourism industry and increase the competitiveness.

Tourism Knowledge Map
The map allows an overview of relevant research topics as well as their systematization and the listing of experts and their work concerning these topics. The already established knowledge transfer platform STUDIEN.at will be fully integrated.
Know-how export platform
In order to increase the transparency of the market for suppliers and contractors of tourism research a cooperation market place will be established. It provides the opportunity to find co-operation partners more efficiently, which gains more and more relevance particularly with regard to the internationalization.
