Abstract
The influence of the circular economy concept on policy- makers is growing. The concept has strong interlinkages with research fields such as supply chain management and could benefit from an inclusion of associated tools, theories and insights. However, in the past, these interlinkages have not always been sufficiently explored. The goal of this chapter ist to explore the link between the circular economy concept and the field of strategic supply chain Management. Based on this Analysis promising future reserach directions are derived. Examples from practice highlight how this concept can be put into use.
