Abstract
As a result of increasing use of economic coercion on the EU and its Member States from third countries, the EU now wants to have the legal means to defend itself from as well as to act upon such coercion. To this end, the Commission presented a proposal for a Regulation granting it far-reaching powers. This article presents the planned insturment and explains in particular its effects on companies.
