Abstract
The following paper introduces the FLUENT model, a contemporary university course planning approach built on the findings from a research which used the results of a survey, interviews to university key informants and a literature review based on the PRISMA methodology. FLUENT is an acronym that stands for flexible Universal Education Model for a New Hybrid Teaching. Faced with the complexity of teaching and uncertainty in planning, the model aims to comprehensively address course planning intricacies. Unlike traditional models, FLUENT adopts a fully online perspective, acknowledging the potential of online education. It incorporates evidence-backed elements from course design, as for example emphasizing deep understanding, accurate planning, or crucial structuring elements. The structuring elements encompass time, space, technology, students' agency, and teachers' reflectivity. Additionally, FLUENT integrates principles of reversibility, addressing unforeseen circumstances, and recognizes students in both face-to-face and online environments. The model promotes flexibility, personalization, interaction, and collaboration, aligning with the pillars of future learning. FLUENT stands out by offering reversible design, considering diverse needs of students, and being adaptable to diverse
institutional infrastructures. The model emphasizes learning paths, competencies, and aligning objectives, providing a comprehensive framework for course planning.
