Abstract

The Europe 2020 flagship initiative "A resource-efficient Europe" was set up in order to provide guidance on EU-level policies in a variety of fields, ultimately aiming at decoupling the use of natural resources and the associated environmental impacts from economic growth. This policy brief analyses how research carried out under the FP7 Specific Programme 'Cooperation' contributes to the objectives set in the flagship initiative.
