Abstract

The stagewise rejective test procedure suggested by HOLM (1979) does not account for special structure of a set of nested hupotheses. A test procedure is suggested which improves the BONFERRONI-type individual significance levels. Typical applications are the determination of the correct order of a polynomial, of a lag structure, or of a trend surface.
