abstract = "This paper presents the FLUENT model and the FLUENT curriculum. FLUENT is an acronym that stands for Flexible Universal Education Model for a New Hybrid. The model and the curriculum are contemporary higher education didactic interventions that were developed in a design-based research process to respond to current changes in the higher education teaching environment. Both interventions serve as the foundation for the development of a modern modular online course for university staff involved in higher education teaching. In addition to these two specific interventions themselves, valuable insights for the design and construction-phase of interventions can be gained from the documentation of this design-based research process. These insights are discussed at the end of this paper.",
