Abstract
This special issue explores the integration of practical wisdom and spirituality in organizational contexts, examining their complementary roles in enhancing ethical decision-making and sustainable business practices. Through five empirical and conceptual studies, the issue advances our understanding of how practical wisdom and spirituality intersect to foster organizational effectiveness while promoting human flourishing. The collection presents frameworks incorporating philosophical perspectives, indigenous wisdom traditions, transformative education approaches, leadership development models, and spiritual discernment practices. The studies reveal how practical wisdom coordinates and mediates spiritual ideals in organizational settings, while spiritual practices deepen wisdom development through enhanced awareness and ethical orientation. This synthesis offers insights into management education, leadership development, and decision-making processes. Together, these works demonstrate how integrating practical wisdom and spirituality can guide organizations toward more ethicallygrounded and sustainable practices while nurturing individual and collective development. This introduction concludes by identifying emerging research directions, including intersectional perspectives, cross-cultural applications, technological implications, and sustainability connections.
