The volume contains 15 papers and an editorial introduction and conclusion. The main purpose is to provide a compact state of the art review of current developments in the field of spatial labour market research, both on the general level of theorising and reflection and on the specific level of empirical insights gathered from a cross-national comparison. The sections cover: 1) general, theoretical and methodological reflections; 2) search behaviour and its resulting spatial processes; 3) empirical evidence and reflections on current trends on urban and regional labour markets; 4) a cross-national comparison of spatial labour markets in various industrialised countries. Papers are abstracted separately. -after Editors
