Releasing the ooRexx-Java Bridge BSF4ooRexx850

Publication: Chapter in book/Conference proceedingContribution to conference proceedings

Abstract

BSF4ooRexx850 is an enhanced version of the ooRexx-Java bridge
BSF4ooRexx which has been actively developed for more than twenty
years. The number "850" indicates that the minimum version of Java is
now 8, and the minimum version of ooRexx is 5.0, making it possible to
take advantage of the features introduced in those versions.
One significant addition that has become possible is implementing Rexx
command handlers in Java making it possible to take advantage of this
important Rexx feature with Java in addition to C++ or Assembler.
Another significant change relates to easing access to external Java
class libraries and to use different versions of Java on the same
machine. The presentation will highlight the most important changes
and additions of the released version of BSF4ooRexx850 compared with
its predecessor.
